Spring and early summer are the best time for waterfalls: the snow melts and the mountain streams near Tashkent run full.

The tallest is Opar on the Ugam range, about 100 metres. In a single day you can see several at once: the four waterfalls of Ozodbosh, the scenic Lashkerek cascade, and the great waterfall of the Kurama range. The trail to the Paltau waterfall also leads to the famous Obi-Rakhmat cave.

Waterfall trails are usually easy, so they suit families too. Bring waterproof footwear — you'll wade in places. Every route can be booked with a guide.
